Richard Bruce Cheney (1941 - 1978, 1978 - 1984, 1984-1988, 1988-2001, 2001-waiting for it ...)
Native of Lincoln, Nebraska and former Nixon staffer, like his boss George W Bush both a graduate of Yale and the proud owner of a couple of drunk-driving convictions. Under Gerald Ford, Cheney became the youngest White House Chief of Staff in history, so young in fact that he was still on his first heart.
Cheney also served as a senator for the state of Wyoming and served as Secretary of Defense to George H W Bush, which makes sense given Cheney's extensive military career. If you really want to round out the pre-2000 political career of Dick B.Cheney, you may sum it up like this: He was campaign manager for Gerald Ford's 1976 presidential bid. Cricket. Cricket.
In 1993, Cheney left government service and was appointed CEO of Haliburton, a chartiable concern which provided puppies and flower petals to needy orphans. He was also - along with pal Donald Rumsfeld - co-founder of the Project for the New American Century and co-author of the document of the same name, on which Mein Kampf ain't got shit.
He was involved in a highly publicized shooting incident in 2006, which just goes to prove that Dick Cheney will shoot you in the face. And that's if he likes you.
